I think people click YouTube videos for two reasons - for information or to be entertained. If I'm looking for information, I need the person I'm watching to be first and foremost...real and on my level.

By that I mean they're not talking down to you like you're clueless (even though you might actually be 😁), but that they've been in your shoes and they understand where you're coming from.

Another thing that makes me trust YouTubers - without even looking at their subscriber count or video views - is that they have the thing I'm wanting to get information about with them right infront of the video. So if you're telling me how to fix a lawnmower, show me a broken lawnmower and what you're doing to fix it. Don't just take your working lawnmower and point out the steps. It's easy to forget the small things that aren't obvious to someone doing if for the first time.

I don't really think much about channel subscribers and video views when it comes to YouTuber credibility. I can judge someone's knowledge pretty quickly just by reading their body language and what they're saying. First impressions are everything when it comes to YouTube.

Maybe if videos started by the person saying "You have a broken lawnmower and I have one too. I know how to fix it so let's get to it." They have the lawnmower on the work table or floor That would make me stay and watch.

For entertainment videos - I don't really know if it matters if about trust. They're either entertaining or suck.

What makes you trust a YouTuber❓What makes you click away within a second ⏱️?

I dont trust a YouTuber within the first minute. It takes more than that to gain my trust.

Fair point ✅.

I guess there are a ton of channels to choose from so if you’re not feeling someone you can just try a different channel. 🤷🏼

Too much stock footage is another reputation killer for me 📺 🎥 ❌.

I think you have to be real and 100% authentic nowadays to succeed. 🚀

Does the channel’s sub count persuade you to trust the content creator more ❓

I follow TG Plays and Metaa on youtube and they always have good videos. Sometimes I watch other channels but they sometimes suck. I trust TG Plays because he has been doing it a long time and his videos are good.
I think it's easy to tell when YouTube channel creators have been doing it a while. It looks natural and like they're just talking with you instead of a scripted, awkward video that's borderline cringe 😬

if they are doing a review and they dont actually have the product they are reviewing in front of them…stupid really
You'd be surprised at how many YouTube channels do this. They usually have the stock manufacturers photos and B-Roll playing while they're talking or using on-screen graphics. It doesn't portray much confidence to the viewer, if they don't have the product to review, how do they know if it's good? Google "____ reviews" and summarize it? (n)o_O
