Depending on what i'm looking for, I can click off a video within 2 seconds. I'd like to hang around and give the video a fair chance, but I don't think i'm alone here.

A good example would be fails videos. They're fun to watch and a good way to unwind - and make your own day not seem so bad - but if the fails videos has a goofy voice over that's trying to be funny (and ends up cringy) and explains exactly what you're seeing when you're seeing it...it's an instant back button press.

Another good example is when video creators try and pad their videos to extend view time. They'll show a scene, then replay the same scene in a different sequence with a voice over explaining the scene they've just shown you.

Some other reasons - videos that have a 10 second intro animation announcing the video creator or video topic. I don't care, cut to the chase and show me the content I came to see!

If the video is of a real life vlog, a wobbly camera that gives me a headache moving everywhere (get a gimbal or tripod?). Bad sound is another no-go for me. Not so much the subjects of the video being quiet, but the overall sound of the video being unbalanced. Loud to quiet to loud and so on.

What are your reasons for stopping watching a YouTube video in the first 10 seconds?

If the video has lots of ads I stop watching. Some have a lot and others just 1 or 2. I watch Fortnite videos and sometimes the creator puts memes every 2 seconds it’s annoying.

I think YouTube is worth the monthly cost to skip the ads. There is so much to watch. Some of the live streams are awesome. I watched new years eve streams from New York to California and saw the ball drop and people count down like 4 times because of the time differences. All from my chair right here. Pretty awesome really. Its what like $15 a month now? I think YouTube has a TV subscription also but never bothered with that. Havent looked at it forever so maybe it is worth it now.

It's $14 a month for premium or $140 a year and you get 2 months free. Its worth it, a lot of the TV shows eventually come to youtube anyway so just wait and watch them there. Plus you can watch at home or on your mobile. Too much good content. Some isssh 🤫 content too tho lol.
