Most YouTubers (almost all of them) that create the "Best ____" type videos always include products that are on Amazon and nowhere else.

If you don't know why, it's for the easy affiliate program Amazon has.

I know Amazon has almost everything, but that's the point - almost - there are tons of small businesses out there that make quality products that don't get a chance to make these "Best ____" type of videos.

I instantly get suspicious when I see all the affiliate links in the video description pointing to Amazon, and even worse the #1 recommendation is usually the most expensive.

That looses my trust instantly. The foundation of the buyer's guides should be in the best interest of the viewer, not the creator. Without viewers the creator may as well blow up their cameras. Their trust will bomb and they'll fade away into the pool of YouTubers that don't really matter to anyone.

Oh and Amazon is paying out 1% commissions on electronics, so enjoy that buck or two you'll make!

Is it me or what?

Some examples for "Best Gaming PC". What about Costco? Best Buy? Newegg? Walmart? NZXT? Dell? Lenovo?

They all do it. I can see they want to make money but they should focus on the people watching first and suggest good products and then if they can make money do it as a second thought. I loose trust in the video if I see all Amazon links. There are other brands to buy that aren't on Amazon. I thumbs down those videos that do that. They suuuuck balls 👎
