Within the first 5 seconds. Sometimes less! ⏳

One thing I notice is if the YouTuber is reading from a prompt card or always looks away from the camera every 2 seconds. I can understand it's difficult to look at a camera lens that has no response, but it just looks awkward when you're watching someone. That makes it look like they are trying hard to make...a..video, rather than making a video to help people solve a problem or just to entertain.

I think another aspect is if it feels like I'm watching a TV show or news report. If I click a on a video I expect to get a real person telling me real information. It's fine to add b-roll and other clips to backup what the YouTuber is saying, but if the person narrating the video sounds scripted, I'm not buying it. I think the YouTuber should talk like they would do if they were next to you, rather than a polished TV show.

So yeah, reading script = forced. Talking like you're a friend at Taco Bell = authentic.

❓ What does it for you? Do you even hang around and watch videos that are super polished?

You can tell easily when they're always looking away from the camera and not even talking like a normal person. You can tell when they are reading their script over some random b-roll video they found.

Yeah I agree.

If they just sound like they’re having a conversation with me and not trying to be a teacher 🧑‍🏫 or talking down to me… because they think their audience 👀 is dumb 🫤. I think it’s just scripted and fake. 👎

It has to feel real. The person’s voice, appearance, camera quality, what’s in the background, does it look good quality or something that was thrown together without any thought.

What do you think about channels that make every video super polished and slick 😎. With fancy graphics, tight edits, sound effects, transitions perfect and little b-roll?

Would that convince you to trust them faster❓

Ya you can make videos on iPhones my friends do it using apps. Just use iMovie its free and by Apple its good
I have some friends that use iMovie on their iPhones to make YouTube videos. They arent super high quality but they are ok to watch. I no of another app called lumafusion which is better than iMovie
