Why faces in thumbnails often don’t work on me

I'm getting numb to over the top mouth open expression thumb nails. They just scream attention and a video full of content that pads out view time before it actually gets to the meat of the video...what I came to look for.

Sometimes they do work though. Take this Jerry Springer thumbnail, it's a real reaction from a real person. Not the video author making a face to attract views.

There used to be every thumbnail with some dude with his mouth wide open but it's less now. Maybe gettin buried under YouTubes algorithm.

I might have to adjust the size of those images so they're not so damn big and in my face on your post lol. Maybe we should have a super thread showing the most ridiculous open mouth thumbnails .
